We teach 138 classes and forums per week all via internet video conference at different time slots. We also teach 10 classes weekly to school kids of all ages.
Please visit our CW On Line Classes and Forums: Curriculum page
We have over 100 instructors and moderators and the average class has 15-20 students. Forums can run up to 90 members.
Our Beginners Carousel Curriculum features the Koch Method of character introduction and the LICW Method which is a suite of advanced techniques and exercises designed to progress from beginners to advanced levels of proficiency.
We use Zoom video conference therefore a computer with mic and preferably a camera is needed. A key with oscillator or HF rig sidetone is needed for sending practice.
We are very flexible and have only guidelines for attending any particular class. If a particular class is too difficult you are welcome to audit it.
The Beginners curriculum is comprised of lessons grouped into three Carousels. There is no designated entry point and no reset. Students get on the Carousels whenever they wish and progress when they feel ready.
This is a personal question but on average students learn CW and get on the air doing their first QSO in 3-4 months.
We do not have requirements but recommend as a minimum 2 classes per week and 15-20 minutes daily practice.
We suggest starting with a straight key leading up to electronic keyers but we are not rigid with this. We do not use keyboards as the Club teaches towards the QSO as opposed to contesting.
This will come with practice and being involved in an encouraging and fun Club environment with like-minded individuals. That is what our Club is all about.
Please go to our membership page and fill out the contact form and the Club will respond within 24 hours.
