How we teach Morse Code in our CW Online classes and what you can expect from our instruction.
We have 138 classes per week by online video conference at various times weekly. Each class is instructor led and lasts one hour.
Our Beginners Carousel curriculum was designed to afford students maximum flexibility. There is no designated entry point and no reset. Students get on the carousels whenever they wish and progress when they feel ready. The carousel concept accommodates a broad range of student needs. The carousels are synchronized so there are multiple opportunities weekly to attend a particular lesson or to take the same lesson multiple times. Students progress at their own pace. Fast learners may take just one rotation while those wanting a more relaxed pace may take a couple of rotations before progressing. There is no requirement to attend classes. Of course, the more classes attended the faster the learning, but we fully realize our students have busy lives and we do not want learning Morse Code-CW to be a burden. Our goal is for students to enjoy their CW journey.
What you will need to get started to take our CW online classes:
- Visit our Membership page and feel welcome to send us a request to join. Full instructions will be emailed back to you.
- You will need to download Zoom.com video conference software and a computer with mic and video camera will be needed.
- You will need a straight key or electronic keyer and paddle along with an oscillator so that you can practice sending. The side tone of an HF radio will be fine in place of an oscillator. We recommend starting with a straight key first and then progress into an electronic keyer.
